Jelly Lake

Jellyfish Lake is a salt water lake cut off from the ocean for some 12,000 years and situated in the middle of one of the many rock islands of Palau.

As the sea levels rose after the last ice age the jellyfish were trapped inside this lake and over thousands of years have evolved into a completely unique species. With no natural predators in the lake to threaten them they have evolved to be completely stingless Jellyfish. Fancy a swim? We DO! Watch the video.
